First Guadeloupe Female Filmmaker Wins Award

Filmmaker Mariette Monpierre has won the Pan African Film Festivals BAFTA/LA Festival Choice Award after becoming the first Guadeloupe woman to direct a narrative film.   The film titled “Elza” tells the story of a positive and successful woman who is in search of her father.  In an interview Monpierre breaks down her film, “Elza,” and lets viewers in on the process of its creation.  To watch the interview click the link below:
