UrbArts is proud to partner with the 2nd Annual Saint Louis Brick City Poetry Festival. We’re thankful for the support given by the Regional Arts Commission. We kick things off Oct 13th at the Stage. Complete schedule below:

Thursday Oct. 13: Opening Event
●Location: The Stage at KDHX, 3524 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO 63103
●Time: 7-10 pm
●Hosts: Pacia
●Featuring: Introduction of the anthology “CROSSING THE DIVIDE” ​
with Los Angeles-based poet & publisher Mark Lipman ​
and readings by St.Louis poets in anthology ​

Friday Oct. 14: The Inaugural Youth Poet Laureate Ceremony
●Location: UrbArts, 2600 N. 14th Street, St. Louis, MO 63106
●Time: 7-9 pm
●Host: MK Stallings
●Featuring: Readings by top youth poets in the St. Louis region and the announcement of St.
Louis’s first Youth Poet Laureate

Saturday Oct. 15: Brick City Poetry Workshop with Jane Ibur
●Location: 14th Street Artists Community Gallery, 2701 N. 14th Street
●Time: 11 am – 12:30 pm
●Featuring: Participants will learn techniques and practices for strengthening poetry writing. This workshop is designed adult poetry enthusiasts. RSVP at [email protected]

Saturday Oct. 15: Warrior Poets Ceremony
●Location: 14th Street Artists Community Gallery, 2701 N. 14th Street
●Time: 2 pm
●Featuring: Past Warrior Poets gather to honor and celebrate latest Warrior Poet inductee

Saturday Oct. 15: DYNAMIC WOMEN
●Location: Project + Gallery, 4733 McPherson Ave

Sunday Oct 16: An Afternoon with Juan Felipe Herrera
●Location: St. Louis Public Library Central Branch Auditorium
●Time: 2:00 Reading
●Featuring: Poems by Poets Laureate of St. Louis Michael Castro, & East St. Louis, Eugene
B. Redmond and reading by US Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera

Monday Oct 17: River Styx at CAM
●Location: The Contemporary Art Museum
●Time: 7:30 pm
●Featuring: Sandra Beasley, Justin Phillip Reed and Jon Tribble
